Fridge flue needed if never going to use gas ?

Post by MagicWagon »

For an Electrolux or domestic 2 or 3 way rm122 or rm123 fridge, if I am only ever going to use electricity, and not even going to plumb it in to gas, do I need to vent the flue to the outside, or is that only used when on gas? I.e will the vents above and below the front of the fridge suffice ?

Not if there is no chance of running on gas. The 2 way fridge only runs on 12V or gas though. 12V will flatten a battery very quickly and is non-controllable refrigeration.

Hi,
I run my fridge on gas and 12v. The 12v comes from either the alternator when the engine is running or via a 230vac to 12vdc power supply when on hook up, to control the temp I use a small digital temp controller bought off Ebay
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/12V-50-110-C ... ect=mobile

Works well with it switching an additional relay to control the 12vdc

Thanks for that info.
That temp controller would be great if I were only going to use it on 12v, but it wouldn't be any good for when on mains. I think that's when it's more likely to get hot as it will get colder on mains, and 12v will only be when I am on the move.
Cheers

The RM123 has a thermostat for 240v operation, it is only the 12v which is unregulated.

Hope this helps.
