Rear door modification

Post by Mr Bean »

Is there a modification for a means of opening the rear door from the inside?
A brief look inside the read door doesn't suggest an easy non-intrusive method but I can't be the there might be a factory mod or someone might have done it before.

There is a post 'open rear door from inside' in the 'bodywork, seats and glass' section where you can see a VW replacement for the rear door locking mechanism and a link for stockist. It enables the rear tailgate to be opened from the inside. Scroll down in that section or do search and you will see it.

Brickwerks used to stock a kit for this.
It can be done by cutting a hole in the door card and operating the lock with your finger.

Doh!
Her Ladyship does insist that I overthink problems. Clearly Just punching in "Opening rear door from inside" was clearly just too straight forward for me.
Will do better next time

Thanks for the link, an internal rear hatch release is one of the jobs on my increasingly long lists mods.
I have saved the link as its quite a long way down my list.
A lot of the photos are missing from the samba (for the same reason as like here) but I did manage to find this on there

may be of some use (shorten peoples search time).
