Eberspacher D2L overhaul

Post by Jono »

My heater stopped heating last year and I've got round to taking it off to have look at it. The black inlet duct had seen better days and was crumpled and when removed I found most of the internal wire spiral had rusted out and a lot of the bits had been sucked into the heater, which can't have helped. Before reassembling I'd like to check the electrics but don't really know how ( electrics not my strong point ). I've connected the glow plug to the battery and it gets hot enough to scorch wood but doesn't 'glow' like an engine glow plug. Is this hot enough ?
