Water tank filling

Post by Stovies »

Hi I've just got around to looking at the water tank and filling of it. Now as I have never had to do this before I am looking for some advice. This is what I have

I can get some tank cleaning liquid to make sure it's ok but not sure that that is the best way to fill it with a hose attachment.

Do people fill before they go away or do they fill up when they get there to save weight on the journey

Fill when you get there. Just carry a small water container for on the way.

I always have a full tank - there is no guarantee that there is potable water if you're stopping somewhere without water supply. As I never use campsites this is usually the case for me.

I always fill before leaving (from a reliable source). The added weight would be pretty negligible on fuel consumption. Plus, the last thing you want to be doing when you arrive at a campsite is start fannying around filling your water tank.
