External Vents on Westy Joker

Post by McNab »

Hi all

Has anyone seen external vents that are additional (and much bigger) than the Fridge exhaust vent?
I have two (one under the fridge vent, the other behind the sliding door) on my van and I am unable to find anything to replace them.

I'm feeling I may need to resort to making them, but would rather I found something off the shelf that replaced it. Has anyone any idea what they might me or where I might find them.

Thanks

I have the same on my Westy just imported from Norway. I hadn't seen them before. I thought they might a special Norwegian requirement from back then.

Where's your van originally from?

Cheers,
Lars

I have changed these covers for new ones now.
Pretty sure they are not standard and added for additional ventilation behind the fridge.

At least I'm not alone.

My westy was originally from France, thought it may have been a French regulation or something.

Where did you get your replacements from Craig?

Hi McNab,

It could be a french reg thing?
You have additional vents on both sides i.e where the fridge is and where the heater is/was?

My mod was done by a previous owner in the past sometime?
Probably to get more ventilation to assist the fridge staying cool and to prevent the condensation rust of the fridge panel!!

I got my replacement vents from eBay ....

They were an exact fit and look miles better than what was on there!!!!
Hope it helps? Good Luck :ok
