Cutting down fiamma awning

Post by badgerfax »

Ok I may be asking a stupid question, but has anyone cut down a fiamma cassette type awning from say 4 metres to 3 metres

If you have such an awning, do you think it would be possible.

I have the option on a 4 metre one for not very much money and being a cheapskate thought this may be an option

Might be just as easy to make your van longer

Seriously I think it would be a challenge, you could be the first to try.

Tiss only an ally extrusion after all.

If the gubbins on the end comes off then my thinking is that it should be possible.

yes extrusion based and but how much risk are you prepared to take that some parts are length specific.

the folding sides that could cause issues, they come together in the middle, longer awnings reach out further so these are longer, they would need cutting down and there are spring loaded cables inside.........
