Anyone know a cheap option for bed foam?

Post by Timmo »

Hi all.
OMG have you seen the price of foam?
Does anyone have any ideas on cheaper can bed alternatives.
I have a caravelle interior with full width seat that folds down.
No idea too wacky.
Cheers.

What I use for my rock and roll bed is a futon matteress. I can roll it up and roll it down when the bed is pulled out.
I just find gives my back more support over the cushion joins etc.

Worth nosing at IKEA. Their foam-only mattresses are sometimes cheaper than buying foam from other places and its a doddle to cut up with an electric carving knife.

Another possibility:

Isn't it about time we had another to and fro on the subject of memory foam - spit!

I got mine for £10 locally on EBAY, as apprently the futon bed was broken and the person selling only the matteress. Mine is quite heavy, though I just couldn't sleep soley on the rock n roll bed cushions.

I bought an IKEA Moshult mattress and cut it up. One of the biggest size is almost a perfect fit for a T25. I made two bits for the rocknroll bed and the rear platform from the one mattress with some to spare.
