Re: fan heaters, what type have you
if I use an electric heater in the van at night to keep warm ( rarely) it's a small oil filled.
Fan heaters are noisy, kick up dust and dangerous at night in a small space in case they get knocked over
If you want a heater for day time to dry you out when you get wet a cheap light weight fan heater is good, I take one to France in case the weather turns bad because I'm on hookup.
Propex in the van for off grid, noisy and kick up dust but no choice.

I have the same as itchyfeet, a small oil heater that takes the nip off the air at night. Also a small fan heater I use for a blast of warm air on cold mornings.

Same here
If it gets really parky I use the propex. But the small oil filled is usually adequate.

I got mine from Original Factory Shop I think. About £20.
You can get them at Argos too.
I am sure many other similar retailers flog them.

That's what we use in the awning in the evenings, and if a small oil filled rad for in the van.

I "borrow" the Dimplex Coldwatcher electric heater from our greenhouse.

Re: fan heaters, what type have you
I refurbished and thoroughly tested our Propex but prefer not to to use it at all let alone run it on the thermostat overnight. On hookup we use a cheap fan heater on the lower of the two heat settings and thermostatic control. I believe oil filled jobs are a bit on the heavy side for a camper. Modern duvets are perfectly warm overnight in Europe.
