if you mean the 3 bolts that hold the cover then yes you can remove those with no problems. no need to remove the gas.

We have a bunch of new old stock Westfalia gas tank parts if anyone is thinking of refurbishing their tank. They are 100% original Westfalia parts that are in boxes that haven't been opened since they were originally boxed up in the 1980's :shock:

Gas level sensors here, http://campervanculture.com/shop/nos-we ... a-replica/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Pressure gauge here, http://campervanculture.com/shop/7342/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Just to name a few parts..

I hope this helps.

Thanks for that, although I was actually looking for some pics and dims for lloydy's bash guard so that I can see if it's worth fabricating my own.

Sorry, you should have reminded me.. I don't even remember you asking, but I can see I replied! :lol:
Anyway, this link will take you to the page in my thread with a couple pics of it. Poshbuggers bought it off me, so if you want dimensions maybe drop him a pm. Sorry for delay :oops:

seals up to 10,000psi and i feel safer using it on a high pressure tank rather than ptfe tape.
undecided on whether to get the standard plastic controls cover from gunzle or the s/steel version from here

How has the Loctite work on the joins? Have you had any issues? Do you not use the PTFT tape?
