The 2 heater pipes should not be joined together as you have now created a bypass. Both or one of the pipes should be capped to stop flow i think that on my set the vavle allows you to compleatly stop the flow.

Neil

strange really as I had them linked together like this for most of last year with no issues.. But peer pressure is winning (a lot of people have said the same)and I will cap them off instead , probably tomorrow.

And after chatting to the Jo, we make just take the heater out to gain more storage for shoes ect.

I have had mine linked for the last 8 years and have driven in temps upto 48c with no issues.
Water is lazy it takes the easiest path - through the big pipes!

i agree with you, and have found the same. The more i think about it though, the more i want to block them. For the sole reason of the pipes not getting hot, and heating up the underseat area.

Hoses are now capped.
Well, thats all i can really do with the van before the trip. So its now plugged in to the house, magnet will now be turned on and attract all the stuff that normally adorns the outside :D Looking forward to this trip, got some amazing looking places to visit.

Lots is changing on my return, new 1Z/AHU engine will be going in with all jx stuff. So by the end of Feb, my engine will likely be for sale with hydro mounts ect. Perfect for a sika/doka with the higher engine lid.
On my return the Sterling 50amp B2B charger will be coming out and be sold, I'm going for a slightly different charger/battery set up. So if anyone wants any of the above, get in touch :D

the main reason is that the engine in mine is a longitudinal block, which means all the aux stuff sits higher and jx mounts don't fit. Plus in about 4 years-ish we should be doing some long term traveling, so i want everything to be as stock as possible. I will be using all the stock jx snorkel, exhaust manifold, exhaust, engine mounts ect ect. the only non stock parts will be the charge cooler and the turbo (brickwerks jx/1z hybrid) . So for future problems/breakdowns it will be easier to order parts.
