To say that I'm just a little excited to go and see this in person is an understatement!
Paint by Alan Walker.
Thanks to Gary Wilkie for the teaser pics.

Looking nice Ian. Is that a colour coded dash in the back?

Yes, the dash needed painting because I had let the "Hovis" pocket into the top, so opted for body colour.
There's a lot of black fittings and its GL spec so that should break it up, not too much flat area left on top left to reflect the sun 8)

Picked up my rebuildable one-piece propshaft today as well, £260+vat from Propshaft Services at Heathrow.
Its only 70mm dia not 80mm like the original, but uses damped (lined) tube so when rapped it goes *donk* not *ding* and has circlip U/J's.
We'll see if its any good soon enough, I dont expect any wbx to give me vibe problems.

As part of my recent working Grand Tour of England, Scotland and Wales I finally got to inspect the paint on the bus.
Whilst pulling though CDL wiring and replacing the roof insulation with some modern material a few things were spotted, followed by some more...
Let's just say that there's now a list to be addressed.

E D I T

I'm not for one minute calling it some "bicycle pump and bucket" paint job. It just has some areas that need sorting before I accept it.

These things happen, customer expectations and all that. There's the opportunity to put it right, no need for any drama.

A flatten and polish and it will be fine.

Right now John, I completely agree with that comment you told me, from the VW dealership guy:
This thing IS breaking my heart :(

I am doing some satin black details on the dash. It was all going really well, right up until the next can was a duffer and spat a load of bits into the 3rd coat...

I wonder why I bother.

They do break you're heart, and you are only painting a dash!:)
Why do we bother? I get asked that all the time, I normally just shrug my shoulders!
