Patrick, see previous posts for pic of the hobby vise next to the 1-ton.
I have seen Record auto-vise before, they command a premium because they are stronger cast steel iirc (usually red painted from new to distinguish them from the iron vises)
The swivel base is nice, but the bottom clamping screw is problematic for my purposes. Easier to get the correct swivel base for the 1-ton.

Good bit of progress Ian, I was going to ask the question previously about the extra steel work but don't have to now.
Will it be getting painted in it's original colour?

I've seen a Finnish syncro in that colour scheme.

I Like that proposed Airforce Camouflage mate
Urban Man. 8)
I think i would paint the Van first, and then wrap it so if you keep loosing it you can choose a different scheme.

Wrap? Hmm...dont want to go to all this effort and have the old girl sweat to bits!
Although vinyl would save the paint from scuffs at playtime ;)
Anyway, Gary has a bit to do before I have the paint dilemma...the Klokkers rear wing fitting by PO had done more harm than good!ImageImageImage

Having a clear-out of "dead" projects, first casualty is the engine-driven air compressor.
Mechanically sorted, uses a wbx aircon bracket with a custom mounting for the York twin piston compressor; needs hoses, a relay/cutout and air delivery.
Will raise 100psi easy.
Electromagnetic clutch on the compressor works ok.
Audi A6 Allroad air suspension alloy reservoir tucks nicely into the offside rear corner, now has legs made up to allow mounting on top of the exhaust heatshield, single tapping has been enlarged slightly to M8 x 1 iirc to improve delivery.
If you fancy it, pm me
(Currently fitted to the bus but will become available once restoration nears completion)ImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImage
