Hello everybody
Thanks for having me on the site!
Like probably many out there I’m a lover of the amazing syncro since being a nipper.
Knocking on a bit at 36, I’ve finally decided to take the plunge.
I’ve been to look at my 2nd syncro today, fortunately my head ruled
My heart and I walked away. Basically bodily there were holes in
quite a few places but the main area of concern was the load bed
was completely overplatedwith 5mm? Steel and the crossmembers
supporting the bed where visible In the locker were shot on the near
side and significantly rusted all over. Also there was a fair bit of
corrosion around where the bed joins the main cab In the locker.
The cab and doors were solid and although It wasn’t a runner and the
owner said the diff locks/syncro system hadnt worked for some time
everything was there with no oil leaks or bashesto speak of.
I guess my question is given the scarcity of rhd single cabs have I made
a mistake walking away? Can you still get panels/crossmembers and
possibly a load bed for them? It was really difficult walking away! Considering
my skill level and possible costs it might of been the best thing to do as it
would be going to a pro for body resto and that would probably cost $$$$
just for the load bed!
Thanks in advance for any advice!
