Fuel filler question

Postby jaber » 09 Jun 2018, 20:15

Hi there, should there be some sort of rubber seal around the neck of the filler between the pipe and the plastic to stop water running in?

Oh, it's a Syncro. No then, it's not the same.
You'll have a hose that goes through the bodywork and connects to the metal pipe to the tank that sits inside the wheel arch. It's a tight fit, and probably seized in there encrusted with crud.

Ahh yes that’s the one lower down I mean the one where it goes through the body at the filler cap, the plastic shroud is there but there is a gap all the way around the pipe where it goes through it seem like an ideal place for water to collect

It's brand new, supplier doesn't have stock as yet, I've got a few on order, as usual I expect a rush so I've set the stock level a little higher than I would normally.
If you want one then subscribe to return to stock notifications (people seem really reluctant to do this for some reason) and you'll get an email as soon as they are available.
Expect the price to change a little once we've got them back here and import duty etc calculated, price is a ballpark (and quite expensive I thought!)
