fuel filler pipe question

Postby jaber » 19 Oct 2017, 15:23

Tell me does the fuel filler pipe just pull straight out of the tank, once the shocker is off and the 10 mm nut holding it on the body is off? as the body needs a bit of welding behind the pipe work (diesel)

many thanks

You will have to wrangle it about a bit to get it to release from the filler neck hose (inside the conduit that's welded into the D pillar) then push it into the tank a little way to disengage from said hose, before pulling it out.
It's a bit of a chinese puzzle and don't forget the little screw than anchors the pipe to the chassis leg!

Hi guys, sorry for jumping on to your chat, but I’ve noticed that I have a leak coming from the seal around the filler tube when it enters the tank(diesel again) is this an easy remedy or do I need to get my purse out again?
