Driveshaft Question

Postby garrybaldy007 » 31 Jul 2017, 18:19

Hi,

Started getting stuck into rebuilding the front end on my Syncro. The driveshafts were removed a long time ago by a friend and is running with just the outer CV's in place. My question is, are the driveshafts same both sides as he can't remember which is which. I also took the liberty of doing all the front suspension bushes while I was at it and the bracket between the chassis and ARB clamp disintegrated whilst removing the bolt, if it's not one thing it's another. Does anyone know where I can purchase them as I've phoned a few companies with no joy.

Many thanks in advance,
Garry

The drive shafts are both the same. As for the arb clamp/bracket I would have thought the brickweks may be able to help if the are nla Ian Holman made some from alloy a while back so may be able to help.

I cant find them on Brickwerks... might be worth dropping them an email... they might have one floating about.
Jason on here (Hugomonkey), probably has loads, but he is on his way back from holiday and lives in Denmark. He might be able to send you one though.
Post up in the Wanted section. There might be someone somewhere breaking a syncro.
I cent remember if Silverbullet (Ian Holman) finished making the spacers or not, hopefully he will be along soon to answer that question...
good luck!

Bene/axeman,

Thank you for your replies. I will have a word with Ian as he's just finished of reconditioning my VC in a real fast turn around, so thumbs up to him. Brickwerks have just sold out of the black speedo drives, so refitting the diff will have to wait. Hope you both are well.

Cool,
might be worth talking to Ian and Aidan Talbot regarding speedo drives too... I believe there is plans to make some.
Aidan might have the correct speedo drive on the shelf too.
cheers
