Gear linkage protection tube

Postby jaber » 04 Jun 2017, 15:32

Hi there, don't know if I have something unusual, but I need to part the gear linkage so armed with me spanners under the van we go only to be confronted with a protective tube affair that's attached to one of the prop protection rails, it starts just at the back of the middle bush back to the gearbox and is in two pieces and then from the front of the middle bush is a sort of flexi tube to a steel tube and then finishes just over front diff, is this normal?

Lash up from German plumbing parts. Gashed up the gearbox end with a jig saw to make a very rough cut out. Yes , all perfectly normal.
