The search for the old "syncronauts" script

Postby silverbullet » 26 May 2017, 08:26

I have been asking around and its not clear who did the original artwork for the "syncronauts" stickers.

Baxter thinks that it might have been Diamond Hell or syncroand101 but that's all ancient history (no offence Jake, if you are still looking in)

Ideally a choice of formats, my engravers prefer vector files but I am sure someone could convert it, if the hard work has been done previously...

Time is pressing because I would like to get something sorted for Pete's memorial plaque. That gives us 4 weeks but I probably need to give the engravers 2 weeks lead time, even if I go in on hand and knees.

I will post this on FB too

There seem to be a couple of different logos out there - an older one that shows a caravelle/tin-top, and a newer one that shows a more detailed pop-top which appears on material from about 2009 onwards.

I've done some digging around through old flyers, etc, and have found a vector version of the older caravelle/tin-top version on an old Club8090 flyer. I've extracted this logo from the flyer and saved it at the link below as a 200 x 200mm vector file with text as outlines in Illustrator 10 EPS format, which hopefully is suitable for your engravers. I've not been able to find a vector version of the newer logo.

Let me know if I can help with anything else.

Thanks. I am not a graphic artist, merely trying to collate the info so we can sort this.

"syncronauts" sticker was as per this Image

I'm assuming you mean syncronauts written in the same font as the syncro decal - I'm not sure if I've ever seen that on anything so can't help there I'm afraid.

I have spoken to Dai today and he is sure that he has got an unapplied syncronauts decal, which will make its way to Brickwerks.

Hopefully Simon can scan it and turn it into a variety of digital formats, a bonus being that we can all then have more of the same at a later date

Cool. Once we have everything can someone assemble it into a 200x100mm landscape frame?
I am not an electronic artist!
I can organize the engraving and ironmongery (already sorted), but not the artwork or file conversion.

Side issue: can someone take responsibility for the horticultural side of things?

Cross wires.
I did the syncronauts script, just gave them away I think as stickers. The left overs were given to Clive and Jenny I think.
