Yellow Syncro

Postby Cliffbase » 10 Feb 2017, 06:56

I hope this post isn't deemed "illegal" by the mods..

I'm only posting as a number of members have been in touch to ask.

Yes Chunky the Yellow "Westy" Syncro is my old van.

It was always a fantastic van, never let me down and we had many trips away in him.
There are various old threads on here & Brick-yard of the work I did when it was mine.

In honesty I should never have sold it, but you live & learn & life is too short for regrets. Would I buy it back? Yes if I didn't already have a project on the go with the 16. I also need an old beetle to strip & rebuild with our youngest girl for her first car - ideally a 1303 or something with suspension & discs, shout if you have anything cheap! So sadly no room for another van.

I wish Adam well with the sale, hes a really nice chap. I'm glad to see hes not being greedy with the price, much the same as I wasn't. Ordinarily I would expect a van like that with all the bits it has to have a 12k tag on it.

Best of luck to the new owner, if I ever get my 16 finished maybe ill see you out there!

Cliff.

It's pretty much my dream camper. Favourite colour and I'd really like a Syncro. If a few numbers come up for me tonight I'll have it :ok

Be careful & gentle with him! Treat him with respect remembering that hes 30 years old!

Have a great time & enjoy yourselves but please don't break him!

Hi Lee, glad to see hes still looking good.

My 16 has had all the mechanicals done & Aidens magic all over the transmission but has barely moved since then so im not going to be joining you anytime soon. I think i may sell him next year as im just not using him.

I like the jerry cans :ok

Thanks guys,

Cliff
am really enjoying owning and doing works on him ,
2" suspension lift , fully renewed the braking system, handmade stainless steel exhaust, fabricated underslung gas tank slampanel, re-done the interior and made a new bed for the poptop , loads of cosmetic surgery! Oh and new clutch going in next week,

Hope you keep hold of your 16 and get some use out of it , maybe meet up !!
