Irish Syncro Event Eire Syncro 2 12th- 20th of August

Postby jebiga41 » 05 Jan 2017, 00:17

Ok thought Id start a new thread as opposed to hijacking another. With the success of Eire Syncro in 2011 (I think we had about 20 + vans ) and with a few more syncronauts in Ireland methinks its about time for Eire Syncro 2  Although still in the planning stage I thought it would be a good idea to put it out there to see who is interested and try to arrange dates, with the initial Eire Syncro one of the oversights was that it was not in the UK school holidays (school holidays in Ireland are from June to September ). so this time around we will try to accommodate those with school kids we will look towards August as far as I can see UK school holidays go from the end of July to September. (could someone please confirm if this is correct? )
Anyhow we will try and keep the formula about the same which is basically two weekends of syncro events and the days inbetween for people to explore Ireland. I might even have a look to see if there are any good festivals on around the time and maybe get a group rate if people would like to go to one, watch this space. Of course I will book the weather and let our continental friends know its on so should be a good crowd :D

I'd be up for this. Always regretted having missed the first one. I would combine it with trip around Ireland.

OK just a quick update going to head for the middle of August also looking at three areas in which to go to including the mountains in the east with graded and well mapped tracks of varying difficulty, possibly some greenlaning in the south west and a site in the west which is nice and non damaging and will be joined by a few LT 4x4s and maybe a Volvo 303 amongst others :) Ferries booked in advance shout cost about 200-300 euros return from the UK will try and look for discount codes although they have discounts quite regularly and at the moment put yourself in as a car MPV 4X4 over 2m not as a motor home it's cheaper

2wd are more than welcome :ok Was at a meet today for type 2 ireland and was thinking we may combine bits of the event with the eireball run http://eireball.com/about-us/ that will be on at the same time. So we would do the first offroad part in Wicklow on the east coast not far from the ferry then we may meet the eirebal up in the west at Dartfield site in Galway and camp one night together there we can play there and then attend the eireball party on the saturday night of the 19th in Kilkenny and maybe have the option of some green laning in between. So looking at the dates from the 12th to the 20th if that suits?

Incidentally stenna are currently offering 25% off ferry bookings to Ireland booked before
5th of May. We've just booked.

Just to confirm this is still happening guys so if you are inTeresa Ed in coming over and haven't booked a ferry yet I would do it now before it gets any more expensive. Regards ferries look at both stena and Irish ferries and leave your dates open also a syncro can qualify as a car/mpv/4x4 over 2.2 m which gets you the car price (cheaper). Anyhow hope to see you over there
