Does anybody have a drawing, even better on cad for the rear interior strengthening plates as fitted to the Synco 16

I've often looked at these and thought about doing them then I think about the access that's then restricted and wonder if there's another way of adding strength that's easier to install.
I know you don't often have to gain access to that area and its probably me over thinking things and worrying about future repairs and what a pain in the a*** it would be if I had to put an arch on it after an off road excursion.
Are you putting all the other strength in? Front suspension? B Posts? Inside the cant rails above the sliding door? Seems a bit of a waste just to do one area and not the rest.

No not putting the other reinforcing in. It's just that its stripped out at the moment before paint and a previous owner has done some crude hacking about of the inner structure to clear a electric hook up socket that needs putting right so I just thought why not add a bit more. Maybe won't bother then as like you say unless the complete package is done then no point.

I see that they are not just flat plates then, are yours a copy of the originals or have you made yours to sit recessed in the apperturs

No they're not a copy of the originals but sit in the pressings rather than just flat plate

Good to see you back here Dai :ok

While on the subject, I am surprised that SDP didn't box in the bottom of the front JP outriggers. I think that would add a fair bit of stiffness to the lower B post area (and so stiffen the whole shell in torsion) by reinforcing the junction with the inner sill.

There's too much flat steel in that area as I see it. Others may think differently!

I have done this on a few of my syncro's before. Wether it makes a difference I don't know but undoubtably will

I know someone on thesamba did CAD cutting files for these reinforcements, but nothing that they seemed willing to share, so that would be great.
