Went and bought me a syncro

Postby Robjackson » 16 Nov 2016, 15:44

Hello all.

I'm new to this and wanted to say hello.

I'm based in Glasgow and have bought a 14" LHD doka. It currently has a 1.6td jx engine and a few of the usual problems.

I'm not clued up on the vehicle but I'm sure I will be soon enough.

Tip 1
Put a lighted match to the "TO DO LIST" those things just get longer.

A lick of paint hides a multitude of sins. I've only had it a month and so far I've had to blank off the blow of valve hole, had the buzzer of doom doing my head in and now rebuilding the gear linkage as I lost gears. Paints nice though. Haha

Not a big of bars but I really like those, how are they mounted, do they stick out under the bumper?

It does look very nice, I like the colour.

Sounds like you have plenty on your hands - especially when you start fiddling and making it worse :rofl Thats usually my tack.

I've not delved deep to see the mountings but doesn't go below bumper. Think it's maybe mounted onto the deform plate bit. Whatever it is called.

I have a feeling I'm about to make the gears worse. Just got to hope that when I put it all back together it just magically lines up correctly and everything is smooth.

I'm intending to fit a SA upper grill so will probably get rid of bars but they are quite nice as far as bars go.
