Bus Fest..whose going, anyone up for a pub meal on the Sat?

Postby Wedgbury » 04 Sep 2016, 17:14

Hi All,

we live about 5 mins from the 3CSG where Bus Fest is held & as such will be going on day tickets (Why pay to camp when you have a cosy bed & a hot shower just up the road?!) Anyhoo this means we know several good local pubs and a cracking curry house; is anyone interested in meeting up & eating out at one of the aforementioned on the Saturday night? Please let me know if there's any interest & your preference for a pint & food at a pub or a curry...I can then book a table.

If the consensus is for an epic Sycro's bring & share meal let us know, & I'll find out if we can stay & join in (think there's a kicking out time for day ticket folks?).

Either way hopefully see some of you soon,

Kirsty (hacking David's account!) :ok

I will be there trading, but a proper meal on Saturday night sounds good!
As long as I can get back on-site that evening then I'm up for this.

I must say, the mention of a 'cracking curry house' got my attention..

We'll be camping and have a meal planned with our local VW club. Hope to park up with the Syncro's during the day.

See you there.

Hi there,

the consensus is - bring and share meal on site.

Am going to phone cracking curry house tonight to see if they'll do me a big, big serving of something as a moosive take-out! The Wedgy family fav is Chicken Tak Jal Misty - a medium hot, sweet & sour dish.

Please can I have a rough idea of who may want curry and whether a medium heat is suitable?

Possibly could do two dishes one milder, one hotter but need an idea of whose in! To keep costs down suggest those who want curry bring their own rice (Uncle Bens packet instant stuff is good & very quick to cook. Better than boiling basamati for hours!).

Hope this is o.k as it will save me the job of cooking something to bring & share!!
Cheers,

Kirsty :ok

Alternative is:

Check out the attached menu - work out what you want to eat, leave me your order on here which I can phone down in advance for a 7pm collection on Saturday.

Give me your payment at some point prior to 6.30 pm (correct cash please!) and I'll be the curry collector!

Either / or but for ease I will go with consensus - I'm not doing massive take-out & individual orders as it will pickle my tiny mind!!

That's all folks!

This sounds awesome, a bottle or two of amber nectar will serve as well as draught.
PS. Will check out the menu..

This is a lovely idea, we'll share a big one or order individually, we don't mind either way. Apart from me not eating chicken, or being brave about anything too spicy

Shaun bought 16 portions of rice, 16 naans we can heat on Cobb and 32 poppadoms, so we'll have plenty to share.
This should be brilliant, thanks Kirsty x

Regarding venue for the spicy feast, could I suggest we sort that out today ? I'll be in the Syncro display camping area and I'm using my canvas gear this time so will have shelter, lighting etc. so its there if folk would like to make use of it. I will have two spare camping chairs only.

Land of confusion here, bus is now loaded and I'll be on the road in a few hours after a Morrison's man-food smash n grab. I will be pitched in the halls (somewhere) so can't realistically commit :(

Going off radar shortly.
