The German "Busschmiede" has some that will fit. They are held in place by the bolts/nuts (remember you should use nuts and bolts with a 12mm radius (m14/r12) for the mefro wheels instead of the 14mm radius (m14/r14) vw ones). Here's a link to the article:

I'm afraid not. The description says they will fit Mefros but not the original VW rims. I have them on my Mercedes steel rims (7x15 et25) and they work there but these also have the smaller diameter nuts. He sells caps for the original 16" VW Syncro steel wheels which could fit but these are much more expensive:

Intrigued by this - don't they sit behind/inside the wheel, and are held in place by that? They don't look the right shape to be held down by the nuts/bolts themselves

Nearly 15 Euros each! I've got some empty Tesco steamed pudding pots that look about the same size as that - you can have them for £10 for the set :run

The hubcaps sit outside the wheel with the tabs on the edge of the hubcap clipped in under inner edge of the radiused bolts heads.

Very hard to get on, but look ok once in place. They sell the bolt/nut caps too.

It was $20 (£16) postage from California to England
