Finished the rewiring as per Covkid's excellent guide.

Got a small 4 way fuse box, under the main box, coming from the main battery
Image

and on the right side have a 6 way box connected to the leisure which will run cig/usb/radio etc etc
Image

quick test of the stereo today, all good  Picked up this magnetic DAB aerial on the weekend and it provides an excellent signal inside the van, in the workshop, bargain @ £14.99. This will live behind the dash.

well its up and running, just needs bleeding and some coolant and its ready to go back to the paint shop next Friday. After that it will be home for a couple of weeks and I can crack on with the leisure side of things. Unfortunately the stereo was about 1cm too deep so I need to decide on a different unit or a spacer. Then its back to the workshop and up on the ramp to fit protection bars and extend the engine bar and give give the diff locks the once over.

well the van drove out of the workshop today for the first time since December 21st, now at the polishers, collecting tomorrow.

few issues when we went to move it the drivers floor had a load of fluid, looks like the hose if worn at the top and putting the clocks in must have disturbed it! Been in the workshop for 9 months and the fluid drops an hour before we leave  Small bit of coolant on the passenger floor but just bled the system before leaving so will see what happens with this. It was good to drive the old girl today even if I spent most of the time watching fluid levels.

So the old girl is home and I can start putting things together, I bought the SA grill about 2 years ago so its nice to finally have it fitted

Vans been treated with GardX which should offer some excellent protection for the paint work even when I go green-laning
Also waited a long time to fit these badges, not quite a camper yet but getting close

Had a bit of time yesterday before I collected the van, I had a can of green from when the roof was done that wont match the new respray 100% so I sprayed the belly pan green but it was a bit much (Douglas  ) so its now black and green (too much time :)

Van in its new parking space. The plan is to extend off the pergola and add a polycarbonate roof that the vine will grow over. The vine growing over sold it to the missus...just about 8)

I managed to get the tailgate insulation installed between the showers yesterday

So I bought this from CVC on 09/08/16, collected it from Jed & Dan @ AO in September 2016 and fitted it today, only took a year

so I was seeing how the new westy headlining board would fit today. The old one has warped and has drooped over time between the fixings. I went to a local company to replace it and I was told short grain ply would be best (grain goes from left to right). In a normal sheet the grain runs lengthways but because of the headliners shape and they way its cut from the 8x4 sheet it needs to run left to right to provide the flexibility. It turns out they had another product 'PVC Foam Board', its very easy to work with, you can cut it with a stanley knife, so getting the shape correct was easy and its very flexible. I trial fitted it today before I add the vinyl

Had a couple of days on the van, fitted the flooring which means I can start to install the westy interior permanently. Completed the headlining panel today and fitted the sun-visors and the cab lights. I went for a dark vinyl on the head-liner instead of the westy cream, its the same brown as the pillars and the back of the RnR bed, will also be covering the sliding door panel in this too.

Its a really nice match for the Escorial green and the westy cream

Also completed the tailgate panel

Just waiting on some cable tidy before fitting the wardrobe and the overhead locker
