No. If you don't get it, then it's not a problem for you.

Re: 30 years of Syncro? (2 threads now merged)
Even more cryptic???
So, for the uninitiated.. We have a pair of pants with the Star of David on them and a upward arrow. So I would say that you are trying to say that the Busfest crew are Jews, or that they dislike Jews? The second pic of a horses a*** therefore means you either think they are an horses a*** for being Jewish, or for disliking them.
Am I close?
Or is the star meant to be interpreted in a pagan way?

Yes, exactly.
An anti Busfest rant has very little productive benefit to anyone wanting to celebrate 30 years of Syncro.

I think it's all relivent when basfest or it crew is trying too become apart of the "celebration".
A lot could be learnt from the Syncro 25 with regards too the event and the events that were arranged for the visitors.
Just my thoughts

I really enjoyed 25, different.
Only stalls there were relevant to the event, VW Classic put a load of effort in and brought some cool stuff to have a look at, just enough.

Precisely. I can't imagine anyone driving all the way to Berlin to look at the same old tat and be herded by the same familiar faeces.
I mean faces.

Re: 30 years of Syncro? (2 threads now merged)
I think what Ian is trying to say is that most Syncro owners aren't bothered for flashing lights, discos, fair grounds, silly costumes, stalls selling T-shirts, Flip flops, sweets and just the general detritus that VW shows are now bursting at the seams with.
A Syncro event with a handful of relevant traders and some cool stuff to look at is more of a draw that a whistles and bells VW "Festival"
Horses for courses, to be honest I'm pretty much of the same opinion.
Nothing to say there's anything wrong with all that stuff, it has it's place, it's just I don't have much interest in it.

I went to Busfest last year, met fellow Syncro owners who had travelled from all around the world, saw some new equipment and enjoyed a fun offroad trail. I had my VC tested, learned a lot from others and came home more confident and clued up. The wife had a great time too.
I didn't spend as much time looking round the stands as it doesn't cater for me as much now I own a Syncro and the trinkets aren't required but I did enjoy catching up with friends and seeing vans and cars from all over the UK.
As for being 'herded' I can only assume there were sheep in your camp?

Re: 30 years of Syncro? (2 threads now merged)
I should add to my last post as I was writing while you posted yours Simon.
I agree with the 'tat and sparkles' loathing. But Busfest caters for all vans - not just Syncro models and so has a much wider and varied following of owners who - lets face it - has an inordinate amount of fans of that nonsense. It's not a perfect solution for Syncro owners but I feel it offers more than most and improves each year.
It would be great to run/attend a Syncro focused event with more appropriate suppliers, mini-events and play but it doesn't seem to be something the UK can offer alone. That's a shame because there is plenty of potential - just a lot of apathy, suppliers (Brickwerks and a choice few others) that want paying to be involved and little unity among owners. With too many egos and splinter groups it is unlikely it could ever happen. The community isn't large enough to have any clout and so things will remain small.
Let's hope Berlin Busfest 2015 redresses it and celebrates Syncro 30 in style.

Ah right, sorry to be slow on the uptake.
It's still early days though. Surely there's plenty of time for the Syncro crowd to influence the format of the 30 year event ?
It looks like the Berlin Bus Treffen site will be the venue, but what's to stop us 'doing our own thing' in parallel (and largely separate) to the crappy funfair stuff ? If this is being discussed on IG16 maybe we'd all better get accounts and start posting there instead of moaning about it on here ? We may find european Syncronauts have similar concerns..
