we already do a swing out version this time we´re trying to mount them so they open with the rear door, with the help of a hidden rear subframe to stiffen up the door and some rollers and stronger dampers and some other stuff, not very technical just a case of try something new until it stops falling apart then figure out what you did that made it not fall apart and if it was one thing or a series of things then you say ok that works, what should we do next? :idea it kind of never ends really but thats what makes it fun :D

its all a bit shiney so a bit difficult to see but we folded some 3mm alu plate to make a bit of angle and the seals are tapped down onto them

Jason, these canopies look spectacular.

Can you tell me how the "folded 3mm plate" is attached to the main aluminum structure? I don't see any welds in your photos.

As a recent member of the forum would love to hear any update on your production status/developments. My goal of the year is to sort a hardtop for my doka (either vindic or other)
Thanks!

True, the handful i've seen sold on various platforms haven't looked great. Not completely put off by some fibre glass repairs, etc as do have access to facilities and folks with decent experience, but seems another hurdle when the vindics have no rams, handles or locks. I guess the only thing trickier to find than a vindic is spares for it!

the plan at the moment is that we´ll be starting making them again towards the end of the year, Andreas the guy who i make the canopy's with has been a bit busy kicking cancers a*** so we've called a time out to concentrate on the more important things in life, I'm using the time to rebuild my workshop and hopefully get rid of all the old syncro´s that are littering the place ,the plan is to start not only canopy's again but all kinds of other weird and wonderfull additions to our vans such as ladders, jerry can holders, awnings, spare tyre holders and even got plans for a demountable and an off-road trailer!, if anyone really can't wait then i´d be willing to part with my own canopy and then replace it with something else i have in mind
:ok
