alusingen/nato top project

the aluminium canopy project has begun and as you can see my top quality controller is hard at work :lol:

so whats more important strength or weight??
and does anyone know the best place to get waterproof hinges??

Not sure what you mean by waterproof hinges?
If you want any detail pics of any features let me know . I have the contact details for the guy on. IG16 who can supply the handles and locks as per original if that's the route your taking . Likewise all the various rubber profiles for sealing doors , hinges and to the body. A refurb is one of the many things that's on my many lists :)

my partner in grime andreas (who just so happens to be a bit of a genius with aluminium) and i will start of by making one for each of our doka´s and try and improve a bit on the original while keeping pretty much to the original measurements so be gentle with us, this is not meant to be an exact copy but something more useable more waterproof and with easily available replacement parts in case of damage :ok
anything is possible here and later on we´ll be playing around a bit with some other larger designs so feel free to throw your ideas in the hat.
got all the locks sorted and as far as the hinges are concerned we are thinking about something like this so it keeps the rain at bay when open

Sika one would be very trick. Did they ever do a sika NATO ???

I thought Patrik had one for a sika? Or was it some sort of fire truck version?

got a bit done today, now both doka´s have a frame, next step is the doors and then the roof after that a load of playing around with different hinges and roofs with and without guttering
