Update on the beast

Postby bat » 25 Mar 2020, 12:50

Its been a long time since we broke down on the way to Syncropendance but the parts are finally all together with Doug and the van is being put back together.

Video and post from Doug (don’t know if it will work without facebook)

Covid-19 lockdown
Theres lockdowns and there’s Syncro lockdowns
Currently, my workshop is closed to the public
But as a garage where no social interaction occurs bar my masked sidekick Darren we will give it a go
All the bits laid out ready to fit up to Gary’s Syncro
All steel and cast hot-dipped galvanised and Gary painted in Por15
All new bushes and bearings
Fully rebuilt drivetrain suited to the Subaru diesel boxer engine
All other items recently fitted and just need a clean
Let’s see if we can safely self isolate a comfortable jog from home.
#syncro
Thanks to Ian Holman for the VC rebuild
And Paul at vantopia for the complete gearbox and diff rework

Doug has promised to take lots of photos for me as the work progress so there should be some here eventual, more updates ASAP

Regards Gary

It was just an oil seal on the gearbox input shaft that went originally, but the job has rather snowballed.
