electric mirror switch - which one?

Post by aarons56 »

Hello there

I wonder if anyone out there can help with this? I have had electric mirrors fitted to my van with a Nissan switch (they only work laterally, but I think this may be a wiring issue). I'd like to get a VW T3 switch, ideally original, but quite hard to find. Will a switch work (and fit into the door smoothly - the Nissan one moves every time I wind down the windo) from another kind of VW (Passat, Golf, Polo etc)?

Thanks

The Passat (86-89) ones are the same and much cheaper because they don't have T3 in front them.

Corrado ones also fit (same switch).
A VW T3 one goes for around 29€ on ebay over here.
A Passat one goes for around 9€.

I think this one will also fit.

Hi

Those eBay links no longer contain much useful information. I don't suppose you have a part number or a photo or some other clues?

I presume that's a B2 (type 32B) Passat

How abut this one - it's a Corrado from around that period as you suggest.

Thanks - you are quite correct, but there are more it seems
321 959 565
357 959 565
357 959 565 A
358 959 565
701 959 565

I have just had one delivered and here are some pics - you can see that there are the above part numbers on the rear

As far as I can see from adverts containing this number passat 35i 1987- 11/93, corrado and Golf 2 (possibly also Passat 93-97)

It appears that there are other versions of the switch with the same part no - 357 959 565 for instance - they look like they might fit the hole in the door card.

I'd suggest Ebay using the following search terms - Kabelbaum is 'wiring harness', Schalter Außenspiegel is 'switch mirror'. Make sure you search for world wide to get all the german breakers.

Here's some other useful pictures
