Grey wire wrapped arround steering column and snapped

Post by sarahandthebear »

We were driving along in Devon last week and the steering wheel was making some strange sounds and felt a bit stiff near full lock. Sometimes it ends up upside down. Took the cover off and saw the grey wire which I'm assuming is the horn wrapped arround the steering column and snapped off. What on earth has happend. Still able to drive it but steering plays up when turning sharp corners. Have the bushings warn or something els

Yeah it's grey with a blue trace what on earth is it for could it have come down from the dash and become wrapped arround the column. We have just had the dash rewired so something is not right there. All our lights work and it dose not seem to be effecting anything. It's a thick wire thicker then the illumination one which is the one that melted before

It's the speeker wire, somehow it's managed to get caught in the steering column and has been wrapped arround it. I have undone it and taped off the broken end it had also taken off the brown wire for the horn
