Rubber bung behind the bulb, need one its missing

Post by rollercoaster »

Its for a square hella headlight but it might be the same on round.
Anyone help out on where to order replacements from please?

I finally got round to replacing all the adjusters and fitting the nightbreakers,
my habit seems to be to order the parts and take forever to fit them...
Anyhow, while in there I noticed that the round seal between the headlight unit/bulb and the wiring,
is missing on one headlight, and could be better on the other.
I tried Brickwerks.. where next?

I couldnt find it, typed in rubber, headlight, whatever I could think of...
Then I emailed them, of course no reply as yet over the weekend,
but really, I am very happy thanks Aidan, ordering today.

always easiest to search by part number, if you don't have etka or etos on your pc then you can use zap7 online to look up part numbers

Yes, not used to part numbers.
So I looked up what you said, and heres the link:
https://volkswagen.7zap.com/en/rdw/typ+ ... 138005/#14" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
From the diagram no. 14 is part number 111941605A
Pop that into Brickwerks search and dada! Headlamp sealing cover!
I have learnt a new trick thanks.
So now I can also just pop that number into my search engine..
and it comes up elsewhere as well...
interesting
Thanks again Aidan,
keep sharing your info and tricks of the trade.

SO they arrived and I put them on,
and I have been thinking I should have tried to clean the inside of the lamps a bit,
I chose a warm dry day to put them on but it occurred to me that I could have gone further,
perhaps drying them out with a desiccant sack for a while,
or even rubbing around inside with a sort of giant cotton ear bud,
they are certainly not spotless inside,
any thoughts?
