Air blower fan - Haven't used in a while any pre prep?

Post by nesty »

Now winter is approaching, I have recently thought I haven't used my air blower for quite a while now. It was working ok when last used. Is there any pre prep I can do for it? IE lubrication etc, or is it a switch on and see?! :?

depends which model it is, if it's more recent Propex like the 2000 then they have an optical fan in the combustion airflow which checks that the air intake and exhaust is sufficient for clean combustion. When not used apparently the grease in the sealed bearing it runs in settles to the bottom and the fan won't initially spin quick enough to give the correct measurement and the unit will not fire up and gives a flashing code to report the fault. Often the easy solution is to get an airline and blow compressed air down the air intake to spin the internals good and fast to redistribute the lube in the bearing and then retry starting up, that usually fixes it - that was the advice I got direct from Propex who are brilliant when it comes to customer support, one of the best companies I have ever dealt with :ok

Apologies, what I meant is the dashboard one, not my Propex.

Tho re Propex I strongly recommend anyone gets that new card for theirs from Propex, fitted it and never had an issue since!
