Headlamp main beam indications reversed?

Post by Winchweight »

Hi,

I fitted a pair of auxiliary headlights last weekend using existing wiring that worked fine with the old lamps that were there. I connected them the same way.

But...

1. They don’t work, changed bulbs etc, still nothing. They are single wire headlamps with H3 bulbs, via a relay.
2. Having disconnected them, now my blue main beam dashboard indication come on when dipped and goes off when on main beam.

Any thoughts?

Changed some of the wiring as it had seen better days and was badly spliced in. Tightened up the clamps inside the lamps and added proper earths as the lamps weren’t earthing properly through the mounts. Lamps work.

Blue light still being a pain though.... earth crowns next I guess.
