Indicators and headlamps share a common earth connection above the fuse box, bet you've got some wires off the earth crown.

I had similar gremlins a couple of months ago. Where N/S main beam wasn't working. I assumed it was a duff bulb went and replaced and still didn't work. I sprayed the earth crowns with contact cleaner and then bulb worked fine!

Chop the terminals off and re-terminate.

Even though your wiggle has worked I'd give the earth crown below the fuse box a darn good clean up and as said re-crimp any crusty wires. Will prevent a whole host of potential electrical gremlins and wires that are fixed by wriggling are easily unfixed by driving (especially on our bumpy roads!)
