Your circuit looks slightly different to mine - but looks like the cap is visible sticking out from under the board at the bottom there - so just need to figure out which joints to desolder

Here are the joints I desoldered. I pressed the cap with a flat screwdriver and the legs popped out when I heated the solder.

I stuck in a 10uF 10V cap and tested it by putting 12V across the +ve ( RH pin) and Earth (center pin) connections at the back of the gauge. It seems to be working fine now ( the LED stops flashing after a few seconds) but I’ll wait for the right cap before closing it up and reinstalling it.
