Hi - I have a 82 westy that has the middle walkway rear heater function so you can send the heat to the rear.
Control looks like this
The cable on that control has been busted for a while. I managed to fudge a heater cable to get it to work, but it only goes between the first two settings eg up triangle or down triangle.
Looking at this
https://campervanculture.com/wp-content ... Render.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
It only does a mix between windscreen and feet/up and down. I’m wondering, are there two different heater boxes, one that works to do up, down, heat to the rear and one that just does up and down?? If so maybe someone swapped my box in the past?

Re: Heater controls and air box
The down arrow also sends it through the rear channel. If you look at the vent in the centre console going down to the floor you’ll see where it supplies your foot vent and subsequently the rear vent too.

K interesting - I’m going to rip it down a bit and see - maybe the flaps are seized or something.

Re: Heater controls and air box
All the flaps have a foam tape about 25mm thick around the edges. This crumbles to buggery and doesn’t seal well. More likely than seized as its metal flaps in plastic housings. Or dodgy cable clamping, attachment.Smcknighty wrote:K interesting - I’m going to rip it down a bit and see - maybe the flaps are seized or something.

Worth a look in the wiki on fan motor replacement to see how it comes apart
