If not the fuse, then the first thing to decide what fan is fitted, as I understand it this is an early DG, so I thought the lower rated fan would be fitted ?

Which relay depends on which fan and relay you have. 300 watt with relay in the fuse box or 500w with the relay on the A pillar.

If the original DG radiator and fan are still in the van, whilst the engine has been replaced with a higher-output one, my suggestion to the OP would be to swap out the radiator and its fan for the DJ versions. This should obviate any need for manually controlled radiator fan, which to me seems a dreadful bodge.

Thanks to all - had a busy weekend...which is why I haven't posted back.

I shall investigate further, but now have the larger fuse in (not 30A amp as couldn't find it) but have a nice blue fuse 25 or 26 Amp I think.

Shall report back.


Replaced the radiator for the larger one, but believe the fan to be original :-) (in my ownership anyway. have a cowling with spare fan in the garage - will investigate that as well.)
