Has this ever happened on your rear lights??

Post by 2011dandd »

Hi
Bit of an odd one but just wondered if anyone had any similar experience or fix to what the latest hiccup is.

So rear lights, mot is looming and have been having issues with the rear lights although all but this one seem to be sorted now.

The sprung contact pin that the fog lamp bulb pushes down on to to make contact on my hella rear lights is missing on the left hand so obviously the bulb doesn’t light. It’s fallen out or something whet ever has happened to it it’s not there any more.

That makes contact to the rest of the back plate of the rear light cluster to work.
I was thinking of soldering a piece of wire in to the plate and to the back of the bulb in the hope that this might be a quick fix?
What do you reckon?
Has anyone else had this happen?

You only need one rear fog light in the off-side cluster. The nearside cluster doesn't need one.

I think that bit is missing from all RHD lh tail lights.

I soldered the wires directly onto a 21w bulb to make my LH Rear fog work :ok

There isn't a left hand rear fog light.
