Disconnecting bus bar

Post by bootie3367 »

I am trying to change my coolant flange as there is a slight weep from the base. I went to undo the small (8mm) nut on the top and somehow that threaded shaft is turning, is that the glow plug now knackered?
I do have spares but they have been performing fine and didn't really want to change that, do I have to?

TIA

Aye Baz, I do have to! Plus solder the main connection as the old crimp let go!

The old glow plug is now in 2 pieces, sure that's not meant to happen!!!!!

Another quick one, the breather cap on the rocker cover, that's not a servicable item is it?, i.e. take it apart to clean it?

Adding on to this, the bus bar had actually snapped at the second plug. I was able to remake the broken end into an eyelet to go over the plug post and screw it down tight. I made sure the two mating surfaces were very clean before that. I'm now worried I may have bodged the continuity for the other glowplugs with this break, I mean they are in one piece for a reason aren't they? It may be OK out here being so warm an all but back in the UK for summer, might this mean a problem?
Oh yeah and the crimped connection to the supply cable just gave way so had to remake that with solder this time.
