Cluster Master kit installed - still no dash illumination

I've just fitted a Cluster Master kit to my 84 1.9 dg watercooled van. I got it to brighten up the dash. Before the dash illumination lights work only on a rare occasion. I fitted it today and the dash lights still do now work. The centre lights all work. Also the temp gauge is now not working. It worked before. Any ideas?

Well certainly check it over, but be careful as the printed circuit is likely to be brittle.

Try tightening the cable tie another notch .
My blue beam stopped working and after tightening the
cable tie it was working again .
Have mine over 2 years now with no complaints .

Thanks. I tried this but still no luck. I put the old pcb back in and everything started working again apart from the dash lights. I have replaced all of the bulbs and made sure there is good contact. Could the switch be at fault? Also the light for the heater controls also doe not come on.

Has to be a poor connection somewhere. I'm not much good for advice on this except to say I created a separate circuit for dash lights when I rewired my clocks. Changed it all for LEDs and resistors for longevity. Bear in mind that circuit is energised via headlight switch so there may be a duff connection there. Make sure plug on back of switch is pushed fully home.

Hi moaninglisa. How did you get on with this in the end? I’m about to have a go at installing one of these myself. Did you manage to get yours working fully in the end?

I have one of these. They work really well but you have to cable tie the clustermaster plug to the loom plug on the van as it is very easy for it to fall off.

All done. Very quick and easy to install and has solved the no speedo light problem I had due to a ripped pcb.

Unfortunately, still don’t have the oil light showing, something that wasn’t working before and still isn’t now.

I’ve been through all the pins on the white connector and given them a clean. The right side of no. 5 was seriously bent out of shape and I’ve tried to reshape this best I can.

Is anyone able to tell me which number the oil light is? I have pins for 1-3 5-11 and 13. The dash only has the indicator led, high beam led, battery led, oil led, temp and fuel as its pre clock/tacho.

Any help much appreciated as I was looking forward to fully functioning dashpod! :(
