Central locking questions

Post by 35i-VR6 »

So I've bought a genuine central locking kit, the loom seams to be in 4 parts

My first question is where does the main loom run, ie the long one that runs front to rear

Im guessing up the A pillar and along the roof line

Im still to buy the Actuators so looking at buying T4 ones, so next question is

are all the actuators the same for all the doors ie boot and sliding door.

Many thanks

Billy :ok

The original front door actuators are different to the sliding door and tail gate actuators. I think that the tailgate locking mechanism may also be different to the standard one but I can’t confirm that.

The front door actuators include the mechinism to send the lock/unlock commands.
The tailgate and sliding door actuators externaly the same (minus a 12v connection) but dont send any signals.
The tailgate lock mechinism is different, it has a sliding component that changes how the press button works.
Have a look through my previous posts on the subject.
