The 1.9 you have has Digijet so should be very similar to my engine pic, ignore the difference in engine capacity between your donor and my engine its the Digijet engine management system you are intetested in.

You will need the AFM and idle control valve or you are not going to get it going.

E D I T just seen the AFM/ air filter on the side of the pic of the doner, its a square air filter rather than round because its an early design.

Yep, I've got the whole digijet system, AFM etc, all ready for the swap over, I have so far removed the engine wiring harness from the 84 donor and also removed the engine harness from the 89, so will swap over the harness (when cleaned up) inc ecu, black boxes etc, then the tricky part will be joining it to the main wiring harness , do you know what coloured wires are for what?

It should just plug into the round 7pin connector, wire colours are the same both sides but check because your van donor is early and I have not seen an early black box wiring

then there is the red to stud in black box which is permanent 12V
Finally the black to black spade in black box which is ignition 12V

the other round 7 pin connector is tail lighting mainly leave that alone

Did this get completed?

Looking to a future where I instal DigiJet system to my 1.9DG, and trying to pick the bones out of it all.

I don't think we will ever know....

The bane of my life - searching for old threads, only to find they never ran to completion.
( or they never came back with the result. )

Overall it is quite a straight forward conversion on a late 1.9 set up.

A lot more challenging on an early 1.9 to create a DH.
(I am still doing a variation on this - fitting a late 2.1 digijet in an early van).

Plumbing - you need to link the two 'now redundant' manifold coolant stub hoses to complete the circuit.

Electrically - replace the old DG wiring with your DJ wiring and modules.

Fuelling -
Fitting of fuel pump and filter.
Fitting of DJ / DF style accelerator cable.

Induction - Fitting of air intake system, air-flow meter, throttle body, manifolds with injectors and the central plenum chamber.

Ignition - I presume you would need to fit the DF / DJ style vacuum advance unit, but assume that the timing will be closer to DG settings and not DJ settings.

I am sure there is more.....

Yep.

Plumbing sorted - got the 6 port bleed rail, new header tank pipe that deletes the hose going to the pierburg, and I have the hose from thermostat housing to bleed rail on the way.

Have fuel pump, and new fuel line replacement kit on the way too, and a dizzy in the garage with the AFM, ECU, Idle control unit, Idle stabiliser, and idle stabilising valve, black box with relays in it etc.

Pretty much have all the bits now except for the throttle cable, injectors, Temp 2 sensor, and some new silicone sections that join plenum to inlet manifolds.

This will probably wait until autumn. I have a few irritants to work through first and I am using the van too much to have it off the road. Slightly concerned about wiring loom though - from pics in this thread, I think I have the black box loom missing from my bits, and the one I have is crustier than I would like

I have rebuilt most of my looms -
So hopefully - electrically sound.

The ideal thing is to look at the image with all the loom parts.
I have this printed out for reference - I am a bit nerdy / ocd that way.
Then replicate this in your garden / on your garage floor or whatever space you have.

If you know exactly what parts you are missing, I may be able to help you out.

Cheers Robsey.

If I am missing any - and I am not sure until I check tomorrow - then it will be this section.
I just don't remember seeing the white plug. Maybe I am wrong. I hope so lol.

Looks similar to DG one, but has the plug for black box aspect ( that homes the fuel pump and injector relays ) and the breather heater plug. I'm going from memory now though OFC. ( I'm thinking this one deletes manifold and carb heaters too, but aagain, I would have to check mine to know where that comes from on the DG. )

On remaking your own loom - did you replace all the wiring, into the connectors?

It was mainly tidying looms snd fitting new connector pins.

Only the starter wiring was toast due to heavy tarnishing.

The main issue is oxidised pins - good old copper oxide / verdi-gris every where.
As mentioned in another thread - new connectors crimped and soldered in place.
(You cannot solder tarnished wiring).

I am not sure why but the 7 pin barrel connectors always seem to go awol.

Probably because early looms used single spade connections and not a barrel connector.
So people upgrading from torpedo to CE1 systems would be cheating by grabbing one of these from a later salvage van.

Re-Update.

I re-read your post.
If anything it will be just the link to the 2nd black box.
Everything else will be in your DG loom.
