Distributor replacement

Post by Vespas&Wedges »

Hi
Can anybody help. I am looking to replace distributor on my 83 wbx 1.9. It's got bosch part no 02370233013 and 025905205B. I can't find match for that but have seen heritage do replacement that has same code less the B at end. Is this the way to go? Anyone done similar?
Cheers for any help.

Hello,

Fancy a move to 'the Dark Side,'....

Aircooled or watercooled...

For less than the cost of a Bosch Hall Sensor..

You can re use your coil..

Cordialement

Looking at the distributor versions in the parts catalogue your 205B disi was for the DF engine built between August 1982 and mid June 84
after mid june 84 when the new emissions rules came in the DF disi was 205G which was superseded by 205AD which Heritage show
https://www.vwheritage.com/025905205ad- ... 6-84-07-92

The emissions regulations changed to test real world driving and at speed and are the tests that VW were recently cheating on with their clever ECU regulations
Once VW couldn't overfuel at revs they had to cut 5th gear back as the engines struggled to pull the 0.765 gear so they all got the 0.82 fifth as standard
