How to disconnect heated rear window?

Post by sweetaswesty »

I owe massive thanks to the forum for helping me out so many times in the past, though I think this may be my first post.
I'm removing the tailgate off our Westfalia California and I've got stuck with the simple task of disconnecting the wire that connects to the heated rear window through a black connector on to, I guess, a stub on the window.
It feels like it ought to be simple and obvious but I've pried around and I don't want to use force and I can't see how to do it.
I feel pretty stupid getting stuck on this but would be grateful for any help.
Hopefully thanks!

On mine it's a 10mm spade connection, it was very tight, I used narrow nose pliers and a flat blade screwdriver to hold the connection on the window so I didn't break it off .... very tight

Thanks Steve. I guess it's the same kind of connection, I'll have another go.

You could always cut the wire and make another join out of sight if it seems as though the window connection is too tight and fragile.
