Hi,
I am trying to help a neighbour with a van he has just acquired (was WBX now a JX)
Mine is off camping and neither of us are very good with wiring diagrams
At the back of the alternator are 3 connections
A spade connector to left marked with a W-I thought this was for a rev counter but I am guessing it maybe for the thin blue wire for the no charge warning light ?
Bottom right a large post connector _I am guessing for the thick red wire which goes from the alternator to the battery via the junction box on the bulkhead ?
Bottom left a smaller post connector _I am guessing for the thick black wire which is an earth? 0n my WBX I seem to think it went to the starter motor?
The end on the black cable which I think is the earth, if it is the earth does it need to go the starter
Will it earth to the body or engine without issue?
Any help as always gratefully appreciated
JX alternator connections
An alchemy of sparks, copper wire and earth
