RM12F fridge relay for holdsworth villa 3

Post by Hash brown »

So after getting to grips with the new van the first task to get the LB charging by fitting a split charger and taking out all the old bodged wiring was succsessfull.

Next was to see why the fridge would not cool when the engine was running. After reading my way through articles on here and a few wiring diagrams I understood how the zig unit and the fridge electrics worked. First task to remove the fridge completed next check the switch on the dash which had a wire missing and finally find this RM12F relay switch which I just could not find. After pulling carpets and bits up I managed to trace the wires to under the front seat.

So just remove the seat and see what's going on I thought but no the swivel base has been welded to the original frame ( not sure if this is normal for swivel seat fittment) which means no access to the electrical parts at the front end of the seat

After a few hours and some scratched hands n arms I removed the battery and using some long screwdrivers with my luckily thin wrists break n snap the plastic parts that the holding screws go through. A bit of a tug and it all came out....happy me at last

Any1 else with a holdsworth villa3 hope you don't have the same issues,,luckily I didn't have to grind out the swivel bases

RM122 a 2 way fridge and RM123 a 3 way fridge will not work if not level any tilt more than 3 degrees automatically turns it off so use a spirit level to check the fridge is level and see if it then works on the 12 volt battery. RM122 fridges are normally fitted with an LVD (low voltage disconnect) to disconnect the leisure battery at 12.2 volts 50% DOD (depth of discharge)
