End of rails on the swivel base

Post by mariner »

Have changed my seats today and in order to get the originals off the swivel base rails I had to prise up the two noggins on either side of each rail. They had obviously been knocked down by the previous owner as they were worried about the seats sliding off the back of the rails.

Is it necessary to do this or have the rails been designed so the seats shouldn't slide off the back anyway? I will obviously test by trail and error when I have a bit more light tomorrow but wandered if any one knows how they are meant to work by design! Cheers.

The tabs are bent down from the factory, removal of the seat is done by lifting the small triangular latch on the side a s sliding the seat forward

Ah, thanks. Is the triangular latch on the seat itself? Need to find this, lifted the tabs and took the seat off the back when I did the passenger side earlier

Yep, although maybe not used correctly here! :D

So I've lifted the tabs at the rear on the driver's side (I noticed that they weren't down on the original rail on the battery box.) This means I can get another couple of inches movement back on the seat (I'm 6' 4''). The seat locked in one more position on the rail and the slider goes just under an inch beyond the end of the rail. The seat is securely locked in position. Am I okay with this set up?
