Whistling quarterlight

When we drive on the motorway the passenger quarterlight makes a very annoying whistling sound. If the passenger pushes hard on the window in the windscreen side it stops it. If we we open the quarterlight it stops too. Is it the rubber seal? Any ideas on how to fix it as it’s getting quite cold driving in the morning. It’s a 1983 T25 if it makes any difference.

Thanks.

Lazy fix: Black electrical tape strategically positioned down the horizontal seal.

That’s perfect. I’ll give it a go in the morning.

A finger full of vaseline on the rubber where it contacts the glass will stop the whistle.

I found black Sugru to be ideal for repairs to window rubbers and it would be a permanent option if the tape or Vaseline do stop the noise.

Thanks a lot. The Vaseline trick worked brilliantly. I have a nice quiet (ish) and warm (ish) van.
