My 1987 1.6TD has failed it's MOT & now I'm left with a major decision. My wife thinks we've invested to much money into it already. Over the last 2 years I have bought;
New Fuel Injection Pump
New Turbo
New Gear Lever
New Alternator
New Starter Motor
New Battery
New Timing Belt
New Fuel Filter
I need to know A) rough cost to repair or B) rough value of the van if I sold it as is? The MOT guy draw a yellow one where the work needs doing. Thanks in advance

Re: Major body work decision
dont know how long youve had the van but the stuff youve bought/done show some signs of previous neglect and would be changed out over time anyway so look at it as getting the van to where it should be
So far you now have a devil that you know to a certain extent so you are left with the visible (and hidden) issues ....body.
the rear corners are usual and most either need doing or have been done already
the o/s ie fridge panal, that is also usual, it will need at a minimum the outer sill and a bottom half of the main panal , it will also need the inner closures to the main floor fabricating, the B post outers and 99% inners as well , also you will likely find the c post / rear arm mount unhappy, ,
you can wizz over the big hill to J37 M 62 and i would be happy to go through it for you to help you decide

And that, Your Honour, is why I am filing for divorce.
